Terms of service
Last updated 16 October 2026
These terms govern your use of Kanari Intelligence ("Kanari") and the kanastrategies.ai website, provided by Kana Strategies & Analytics, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Kana", "we", "us"). By signing in to or using Kanari, you agree to them. If you use Kanari for an organisation, you confirm that you can agree to them on its behalf.
The service
Kanari collects publications from African statistics offices, central banks, ministries, regulators, exchanges, parliaments, gazettes and other publishers, and provides Kanari Intelligence, which answers questions with figures cited to their source documents. What the record holds differs by country and by vertical.
Your account
Accounts are set up for named people at organisations with an order with us. Keep your password to yourself and do not share a login. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
Orders and fees
Access to Kanari is provided under an order or agreement you sign with us. It sets the delivery form, the people with access, any allowances, the fees and the term, and it takes precedence over these terms where they differ.
Fees are invoiced as your order sets out.
Acceptable use
When you use Kanari, do not:
- copy, scrape or bulk-export the record to build or feed another dataset or service;
- resell or share access, or let others use your login;
- try to get around allowances, rate limits or security controls, or probe the service in ways that could harm it;
- reverse-engineer the service, except where the law allows it;
- use Kanari for anything unlawful.
Your content and what you create
You keep the rights to the questions and material you submit. The answers, briefs and exports you create are yours to use in your work. When you reuse a figure, keep its source line: the figures remain subject to their publishers' terms.
Client data is never mixed with the public corpus or used for training.
Our service and the record
Kanari, its software and models, and our compilation of the record belong to Kana. You may not copy or redistribute the record except as these terms or your order allow. Some data comes from third parties under their own licences, credited where it appears.
Accuracy
Kanari cites the documents behind each figure so you can check them. Publishers revise figures, documents can contain errors, and Kanari Intelligence can misread a document, so check important figures against the cited source. Kanari provides information, not investment, legal, tax or other professional advice.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Kanari available, but we do not promise uninterrupted service except under a service-level agreement in your order. We may change features. If a change materially reduces what your order includes, we will tell you, and your order sets out what happens next.
Suspension and closing your account
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after telling you why where we can. You can close your account at any time.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Kana is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of profit, revenue or data, and our total liability in any 12 months is limited to the fees you paid us in that period. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
Changes to these terms
We will email you about material changes at least 30 days before they apply. If you keep using Kanari after that, the new terms apply.
